The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a three-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with strong foundational knowledge in computer science, programming, and IT applications. Affiliated with MAKAUT and approved by AICTE, the course focuses on practical learning, software development, and emerging technologies.

Eligibility Criteria for BCA Degree Course
To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Educational Qualification:
Applicants must have successfully completed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or council (such as CBSE, ISC, WBCHSE, or any state board in India).
2. Minimum Marks Required:
- Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
- A relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories (i.e., 40% for SC/ST/OBCcandidates), as per government norms.
3. Subject Requirements:
- Having Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level is preferred.
- However, students without these subjects may also apply, but they might be required to undergo a bridge course or introductory classes in the initial semester.
4. Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit specified by MAKAUT or AICTE, but candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.
5. Admission Procedure:
- Admission is typically merit-based, following the guidelines set by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
- Final selection may be based on academic performance, availability of seats, and personal interview or counselling sessions conducted by the institution.
6. Lateral Entry (if applicable):
- Some colleges may offer lateral entry to the 2nd year of the BCA program for students who have completed a recognized Diploma in Computer Science/IT after 10+2.
